A Bit of MouseKeeping...

Hey Guys and Dolls! We need to chat. No I am not breaking up with you! We've been together so long now I could never leave you. ;-)
Found this HERE

I just want to go over a few things for the months (yes months) ahead. Avengers Month was good but I didn't do the Fashion Fridays I promised. If I can pull myself together I'll do something THIS Friday June 1st.

Tomorrow I will do that MKExpo (yes I'll explain what that is) recap post. So excited to let you in on the world of blogging and blog conferences!

I go on another Walt Disney World trip Sunday and am all over the place planning that. Make sure to follow my twitter account (@thedragynslair) and the facebook page (The Dragyn's Lair) for lots and lots of pictures! I will do my best to post tons of them. If you have any picture requests let me know.

With any luck there'll be a HUGE Visa gift card/Brave giveaway in the Lair later in June. I am hashing out the details as we speak. And this time it'll be easy for everyone to enter because you'll only have to leave a comment. But you'll see when the time comes.

June and July are tough months for me blog-wise because I have graduate school for 6 weeks. For those of you who are curious I study screenwriting and film and my life's dream is to write a hit TV show and a Disney movie or 2.

Grad school makes writing difficult to say the least. I am hoping to get together some guest posts. Also, if you don't mind, I could always write about my time in grad school and let you know what projects I am working on. I'm taking a class on sitcom (situation comedy) writing and adaptation. Both of which seem like fun.

Come August I will be home from grad school but I go right into BlogHer (excited). That's a big blogger conference that'll help me hone my skills as will as give me the opportunity to connect with brands.

Why connect with brands you ask? Well brands mean products and opportunities. And I want to share those with you. In fact if you could please let me know what brands you like (besides Disney ;-) and what things you are interested in that'd be awesome!

August and September will be dedicated to travel and new experiences. As some of you may know, I was able to get in contact with Chevrolet and will have a Chevy Corvette in my drive way on August 13. I am excited to say the very least! And of course I'll tell you all about it.

I am also trying to get in touch with other travel brands. I think the theme will be something like "Magic outside of Disney" or something like that. We shall see.

August 11 is the 2nd birthday of the Lair... I am plotting something HUGE for that. (PS you might really want to tell me about the brands you love.  Hint. Hint.)

Lastly (wow this is a ridiculously long post) October I will be attempting (drum roll please) 31 days of costumes! Each day will be dedicated to a different costume or costume piece to help you prepare for Halloween. Hoping for guest posts on this one too. The costumes will range from the family friendly to the risque. Don't worry I'll warn you about which is which.

I think that's all for now. Remember you can always email me at thedragynslair@gmail.com and leave a comment or question and I'll get back to you.

#AvengersMonth Theme Song

Ok so this isn't the Avengers theme song. Nor is it on the album at all! But I love it and you will too.

Found on Amazon.com but seriously this song should be on here!

#MKExpo... The Pics

This is what is know as a "stalling tactic". In other words I still owe you all a recap post (or 3) and I haven't finished them yet. So I'm posting a ton of pics and hoping you won't hold it against me. ;-)

Viva @CavaDelTequila!!!

There are two things I like to do when I visit Epcot and for me both have become a tradition almost ritualistic in nature. The first is that I must ride Spaceship Earth and thank the Phoenicians (they’re why it’s so easy to learn your ABCs.)

Secondly I like to walk around the World Showcase until I reach Mexico (for those paying attention that is a really short walk.) Once I get to Mexico I walk into the miniature Aztec temple and get lost, in Mexico.
There are beautiful shops, a really fun ride with the Three Caballeros and beautiful art everywhere.  But let’s be honest with ourselves, I’m not there for any of that!
I am in the Mexico pavilion for one thing: La Cava del Tequila! My casa away from casa. I love La Cava, not like, LOVE. This beautiful little hole in the wall bar is such an escape from the hustle and bustle of visiting a theme park.
One of the best things about La Cava is even though I don’t think it is a kid free zone I rarely, if ever, seen kids in the bar. Not a one. I realize that Disney is a place for families and children but it’s nice to know that there are places where the childless (or those who desire to be temporarily childless) can chill out.
Another thing I like about La Cava, it’s cool (temperature) and serene and dark: A perfect way to take a break from a busy day out in the hot Florida sun. When you enter La Cava it’s like being transported into another (tequila filled) world. It’s such a calm atmosphere and you don’t feel the need to rush to the next ride or show.
La Cava also has some of, if not the, best drinks on property. Even if you are not a complete fan of tequila the margaritas are delicious and the tequila is some of the smoothest I have ever tasted. I have never had a bad margarita there. NEVER! And that’s saying a lot considering I have had (in no particular order) the blood orange, passion fruit, avocado, avocado/strawberry, and pomegranate margaritas there! And several of those I have had more than once. Every margarita I’ve had has been sweet but not sugary. You can’t taste the tequila but trust me it is there!

There a few (although be they extremely minor) downsides of La Cava del Tequila. It is SMALL (small in caps… ironic?) So it’ll often feel as though the bar is very very crowded. However by the time the bar seems good and crowded it usually clears out and it’s a perfect little oasis again.
The price of La Cava is a bit high ($14 for a margarita) but that’s pretty much par for the course with Disney. And trust me the margaritas are worth every penny! Also they have specials every Monday where one particular type of margarita is on sale for $10.
Another problem that I have had when visiting La Cava was service. If you’re at the bar they’re pretty good about getting you what you want. But if you grab a seat sometimes it seem like it takes a while before they come to your table. And if you need refills it seems to take even longer. This has happened to me enough times that I felt the need to share.
On the plus side (yay plus side) the wait staff is some of the nicest on property! They are more than accommodating when it comes to (odd) requests. For example back in November I asked for a layered margarita that was avocado and strawberry (read and green for the HoliDaze!) And a bartender whipped it up for me! That was so nice.
The staff is also great at making suggestions. Recently when I went to La Cava I was in the mood to try a hibiscus margarita. But alas it was no longer on the menu. The waiter suggested that I try the pomegranate margarita instead. This drink is now the love of my margarita life!
Wow I had a lot to say today! Guess I really love a good margarita bar and La Cava del Tequila is the greatest margarita bar EVER! For more info about La Cava del Tequila head over to their website http://lacavadeltequila.com or their twitter @cavadeltequila.

#AvengersMonth Fashion by: @DisneyonWheels

When Dana asked for an Avengers themed guest post I jumped at the chance to do some geeky research. I love fashion but I really love fashion with a geeky twist. I especially love things with a comic book theme. Here is some of the coolest Avengers pieces I came across on the web.

Every geek girl loves her t-shirts. These shirts from WeLoveFine.com are unique and based on the designs of fans. Here are a few of my favorites.

Accessories are also a must. This bracelet features icons representing the Avengers. I love the finish and will definitely be adding this to my collection.

This cool hair tie features Earth’s mightiest heroes. I love the retro vibe.

Harvester Products has some cool Avengers designs. I think my favorite is the Captain American beanie. She made me an awesome R2D2 designed beanie and will take custom orders. I’m thinking of getting a Thor inspired one. Check out their Facebook page for more designs.

And last but not least, shoes! Check out these fab Avengers heels.

Or if you are like me and heels aren’t really your thing here are some custom TOMS from Sink or Swim Kicks

So what
Avengers fashion have you come across?
