So while I was brand hunting for the HoliDaze Gift-Away I remembered one of my favorite brands: PopCap Games! PopCap was my brand of choice for college procrastination. To this day I still played Bejeweled, Chuzzle and Bookworm. Now we can add a new game to my list Plants vs Zombies (for iPhone).
Instead of doing the usual formal disclaimer I will say this: What I am writing here is a completely unsolicited review. I receive absolutely nothing for writing this. But PopCap was nice enough to send over some Plants vs Zombies swag and I figured a short review would be nice.
I love Plants vs Zombies (or PvZ) it is the most fun I've had with a game in a very long time! The point of the game is simple; keep the zombie hoard out of your house. But how do you do that? By planting different plants with powers and tools that will help you defeat the zombies.
I've only played a few levels so far but I have some favorite plants. I love the sunflower because it helps you get more sun and more sun means more plants! I also love the peashooters. There are 3 types of them so far. There are standard peashooters, frozen and doublers. I love the standard most just because those little guys are my first line of defense!
The game challenges you to think strategically about where to plant and what to plant to stop the various types of zombies. Yes there are types! Some have bucket helmets, others can pole vault and of course the standard issue zombie. When you plant your plants don't think you're safe! Zombies are omnivores and will eat a lovely salad of your plants before devouring you.
I think this game is perfect for ages 7 and up. As long as your little one (or you) has no fear of the undead there is nothing really scary about this game. The zombies are actually kind of cute and hilarious. One word of warning. This game is addictive! Once you start it is really hard to put down. So much fun.
Now to the giveaway. PopCap sent 2 tshirts, 2 figurines, 2 hats, a calendar and a lunchbox based on the PvZ game. I used this to make 3 separate prize packs. And nope I won't tell you which is which. Just know that it is awesome and you will enjoy! Many will enter 3 will win. Rules are in the rafflecopter and when in doubt check the giveaway tips and tricks. Rafflecopter is after the pic... Good luck!
