  1. I'm excited for Brave because I want to see Pixar's first female lead! It would have been nice to have their first female director as well, but you can't always get what you want...

  4. My husband and I saw Brave last night at a screening Disney invited us to. My husband was very excited because he loves Disney and Pixar even more than the rest of us. We enjoyed it!
As for being brave, well, I get told all the time I'm brave for doing all the things I do despite only having one leg. To me, that's not really bravery though. In my mind, I'm just living life the best I know how. But I do think I'm brave when I go after my dreams. Every time I approach a brand because I want to work with them, or go after a big-name famous guest for my show because they are doing something important that I want my audience to know about or hear, and every time I get in front of an audience to teach or to give an inspirational talk, I am stepping out of my comfort zone to be brave. Every time I listen to God and do what He asks, I'm being brave, because it often goes against the "norm" and people say "Oh, you can't do that" (becoming a nurse, breast-feeding before it was "in", using a mid-wife before it was "in", homeschooling, becoming an entrepreneur, becoming a talk show host, and the list goes on!). Thank God, He gives me the courage and strength to be brave!

  6. I am beyond excited about this movie! I adore Disney and Pixar and I am thrilled that Pixar has their very first heroine in this movie! The graphics look absolutely amazing and I love the spunk and courage and individuality shown by the heroine. Can't wait to see it.

  7. I really can't wait for this movie! I think what really intrigues me and makes me want to see this movie is Merida's line "If you had a chance to change your fate, would you?"

  8. So I just wrote this big long comment about bravery for me and then I lost it all because I didn't log in to the comment box first... make sure you log in first! :)

Anywho, Bravery for me is the realization that something is more important than your own fears and then deciding to act for the greater good inspite of your fear. The instance that comes to mind for me is my senior recital in college. As a musician, I had been dealing with performance anxiety for a long time, but every performance musician was required to put on a full solo recital before graduating. Because of bravery and faith in my abilities and in God's plan, I was able to give the best performance of my life; I was able to put my own fears aside and focus on completely on the music. It may not seem like much to many, but to me the experience is the example of bravery that I carry with me to remind myself what I am capable of accomplishing with faith and trust (and maybe even a little pixie dust ;) ).

  17. I am extremely excited to see Brave because it seems like it is going to show a new side of princesses. Instead of showing the classic Disney princess that typically relies on a man for her happiness, Merida is against the idea of marrying. She seems very much like a tom boy who wants to change her fate and not just follow what everyone tells her to do. She wants to live her own life. Therefore, I can't wait to see this movie and it's different view on what a princess can be!

  18. I cannot wait to see Brave because it is going to be wonderful and she reminds me of myself!
As for a time I was Brave, the first that comes to mind is finally dealing with and beating claustrophobia. I was so claustrophobic that my parents couldn't even lean down to tuck me in to bed at night, I would immediately start panicking. I avoided elevators at all costs (even Tower of Terror) and sat back and watched as my friends rode fun coasters that used shoulder harnesses to secure you. I finally battled my fears and strapped myself in to my first upside down roller coaster and haven't looked back since!

    ReplyDelete
  19. There aren't many movies made for redheads like myself. To see a strong, female lead in a children's movie really gives a wonderful message to gingers of all ages, and I'm really looking forward to seeing it! It looks like a great film that defies the stereotypes set for girls in so many classic Disney films.

As for being Brave, realizing who I was and who I want to be was the bravest moment of realization I've ever had in my life. It takes courage to realize who you really are.

  33. I've been excited about seeing Brave since the first time I saw the trailer and knew it wasn't going to be a stereotypical Disney movie. I already love Merida and know she'll make a difference in a lot of little girls' lives since she's not another pretty princess but a strong female not afraid to be different.

  34. I want to see BRAVE since I heard about it last year! One time I stopped a stabbing. I was so scared and didn't know any of the guys involved and to make it worse, my son was about 2 years old and with me at the time. The cops called me a Hero. I felt sick for about a week afterwards and the doctor said it was nerves! lol

  36. When I was 10, mom and I were driving on the highway and I felt something coil around my ankle. I froze and told mom she needed to pull over. When the car stopped I told her that I couldn't move so she'd have to come to my side and open my door.
After all the drama of me KNOWING I had a snake coiled around my ankle we discovered that it was a piece of string!
Mom praised me for being so calm and not freaking her out to where she would have wrecked the car.

  66. I signed up to fight in a Sigma Chi Fight Night during college. I'd been hoping to fight the same person I'd fought the last time in a grudge fight, but he didn't sign up. When I saw who I was fighting, it was a guy named Mark that I knew from my old dorm. He had grown up in Cut N Shoot, TX, right next to a Golden Gloves coach who had won the Texas Tough Man Competition a few years before. He had trained under this man and he was in better shape than I was, but I got in the ring anyway. My philosophy was just to keep my guard up and try to last as long as I could without getting hurt. I made it into the 2nd round win I took one in the teeth and heard the ref yell, "...Three...Four..." I decided it would be better to walk out of the ring with all my teeth than to try to go on, but I had been brave enough to walk in there against a guy who knew what he was doing.

  67. I am excited to see this in the theatre because it looks like so much fun! I'm actually planning on going without my daughter because she would likely be scared by it, (too young).. 166. My BRAVE moment happened when I was 12 years old. My father was a mean and violent drunk. One day he went after my mother, yet again. I was in the same room with them this time (normally I was in another room). I felt an energy building and building and building inside of me and then I jumped on the arm he was using to hit my mother and yanked and pulled as hard as I could. He was, of course, so much larger than me but the end result is that this stopped this particular assault. He swung me off after a while but I had done it!
