Halloweentown or Christmastown?

Since today is Halloween and right after is when the HoliDaze season starts getting under way I figured I'd spend a little bit of time on a Disney film that transitions between the two seasons. The Nightmare Before Christmas bridges the gap between Halloween and the HoliDaze better than any film I know of.

But it also brings up and interesting philosophical question: Would you rather live in Halloweentown or Christmastown?

This is a debate I have engaged in with friends since I was in high school. Yes guys and dolls, your beloved Dragyn is very odd...

While watching The Nightmare Before Christmas you notice these two completely different towns: Halloweentown, which is mostly grey, dark, gloomy and despite being somewhat cute is kind of scary. And Christmastown which is bright, cheery, neon colored and loud. Either your living in a world of constant darkness or a world that's like being trapped in "It's a Small World". Neither one is perfect but in the debate you have to choose one.

Personally I want to live in Halloweentown but have an unlimited pass to Christmastown. I love dark and creepy but I love bright and cheery every now and then.I mean anyone who knows me know I am basically a vampire anyway. And when is the last time you've heard of a HoliDaze vampire? So yes I would be singing "This is Halloween" but I'd also be "Making Christmas" whenever I got a chance.

Ariel and Ursula AKA My BFF and Me!

This isn't so much a review as it is a shout out to one of my favorite places in the park. (I'll do a review after I revisit them in December.)

Actually La Cava del Tequila is actually one of my favorite places in Epcot. My joke is there are two things I like to do every time I'm in Epcot: Thank the Phoenicians and get "lost" in Mexico. And getting lost in Mexico usually involves a margarita (or 3) at my favorite tequila bar.

My last trip in May I had the: Wild Passion Fruit
Familia Camarena silver Tequila, ginger liqueur, passion fruit, mango nectar and fresh lime juice, topped with fruit foam, served on the rocks with hibiscus Himalayan salt rim (lovingly borrowed from Sweet with just enough spiciness from the salty rim it was so refreshing.

I also had the: Blood Orange
Familia Camarena premium silver Tequila, orange liqueur, a sweet-tart mix of blood orange juice and hibiscus syrup, topped with fruit foam served on the rocks with a hibiscus Himalayan salt rim (lovingly borrowed- oh you get the idea!) Less sweet than the passion fruit but just as refreshing.

I will say that the margaritas taste like nothing so be careful when drinking. They will hit you like a ton of bricks later. But I LOVE them!

Have you been to La Cava? What do you think of it?

Fashion Friday

Hey Guys and Dolls! I want to share with you this crazy idea I have.

I recently bought the CUTEST outfit. At first I just bought it because I love sparkles, black and purple. But the more I looked at it the more it reminded me of Ursula... Ok maybe I have Ursula on the brain because I am dressing as her for Halloween but look at it! If Ursula was a woman in her twenties she would totally wear this!

This inspired one of my CRAZIER ideas. What if all of my outfits for my up coming Disney trip were based on characters?! How cool would that be? I could style each outfit before I packed and be styled for Disney fabulousness!!!

My initial thoughts were because I already have my Ursula I could either do a complete Little Mermaid theme or a villains theme (Mwhahahaha!!!) But maybe I'm limiting myself. What do you think? Mermaid? Villains? Or a different character based on each of WDW parks? Let me know in the comments!

This entire look is from

The Secret World of Arriety

I LOVE anime! I love Studio Ghibli! And come February 17 I will be in the theaters watching this! It looks really cute. Thoughts?

Disney Dream District

I think I am going to keep this mostly pics.

Below you will see pics of the District adult bar/lounge area on the Disney Dream. You will also see pics of me with some of my favorite peoples...

If you ever get a chance to go on the Disney Dream enjoy your nights in the District until 2am (or until they kick you out).

Each one of the bars has it's own theme. Pink is a bubbly, sparkly, champagne lounge. Skyline has ever changing city-scapes across the walls and a light up LED screen menu. And the Evolution was the dance hall... Every night the gang from Lou Mongello's cruise would shut down Evolution. It was the best time ever!

For Klaus: Munich Day 1

Unfortunately Guys and Dolls I am still in a period of mourning. I lost a very much beloved friend and professor recently and I miss him very much. With your permission I'd like to do a series of posts I call "For Klaus". I know it's not Disney but magic comes from the people who have touched our lives. In each post I will honor the man I knew and loved with pictures and stories. I will probably do this about once every few weeks and I don't know for how long. Maybe until the pictures run out. In any case this is the first of the series. It's my first day in Munich with Klaus and some of my now life long friends (loves of my life). Enjoy and feel free to comment...
