Weird Souvenir Wednesday

Hey Guys and Dolls! In an attempt to expand the content of my Wednesday posts I decided to try Weird Souvenir Wednesday. I figured if it started with "W" and ended in Wednesday it would be good! ;-)

So I submit for your approval my Mickey Mouse Dominoes. Really I have no clue why I bought these. I think they're kind of cool and I do know how to play dominoes. Not just line 'em up knock 'em down dominoes but the real game. And yet here they are a year later and have never been used!

Do you have Disney souvenirs like this? Where you bought them at a whim but now don't know what to do with them. Tell me all about it in the comments!

See ya real soon!

Where in the World Wednesday

Please try to ignore the fact that blogger hates me and I can't get this pic right side up... ::sigh:: But in any case...

Can you guess where this pic is from? I'd give you a hint but I don't want to be followed home. ;-)

Dreamy Food: Royal Palace

Hello boys and girls! And welcome to the long overdue post about the last restaurant I went to while on the Disney Dream. The Royal Palace. Now the Royal Palace was probably the ritziest of all 3 restaurants and felt the most grown up.

Before I get too far ahead of myself let me stop and thank Marc Lorenzo for the pics of the chandelier. In fact that may be the best way to describe how the decor of this restaurant works. The chandelier gives the illusion of being really dressed up but with a wink and a nudge to Disney princesses there are glass slippers hanging off of it. So I would classify the decor as what a little kid thinks grown up looks like. Because it felt really refined but kind of fun as well. But enough about the way the room looked....

On to the food!!! I think I will do this picture by picture that way you'll know what food I am talking about.

Double Baked Spinach Souffle

The double baked spinach souffle was light and delicious with a savory cream sauce that made the dish for me. A nice beginning to the meal.

Imperial Illusion
Honestly by the last day I had gotten dizzy from the ship rocking so I needed a drink. This was a basic fruity drink pineapple flavor with a berry hint to it.

Iced Lobster and Jumbo Shrimp
I think the lobster was the best dish of the night. It was chilled and tasted like lobster and shrimp cocktail. But what made the dish was the tomato and horseradish cream. So good!

The Comtesse du Barry's Soup
Sadly this soup wasn't all that memorable for me... I know it was creamy and rich but it had no real distinct flavors to speak of.

Avocado-Citrus Salad
I live for avocado but the citrus is the star of this salad. Light and fruity. It was a great pallet cleanser before the main dish.
Royal Palace Aged Angus Grilled Beef Tenderloin and Lobster Medallions
Sadly I have had way better steaks. This one wasn't bad but it was extraordinary either. In fact the best part of the dish for me were the lobster medallions that were REALLY small but of so good. The potato side dish was pretty good too.

Sweet Temptations - trio of peanut butter mousse, mango cheesecake and Tahitian vanilla creme brulee

This desert is all about the mini creme brulee. The mango cheese cake was fruity and light and pretty tasty. The peanut butter mouse was just ok.(Think peanut butter cup) But the creme brulee was to die for! So rich and creamy. If I had to do it all over again I would have just gotten that.

Vote to WIN!: Star Wars Caption Contest

Hello everybody! A few weeks ago I posted the pic below and ask for you to come up with the funniest caption. Well you came through and now comes part two of this little game.

Now is the time to VOTE for your favorites. Here are the rules (I'll try to keep it simple): You read through the captions, pick your top 3 favorites and vote for them by number in the order you like them say you like captions 1,2, and 3 and liked 1 the best and 3 the least your vote would look something like this: 1,2,3.

The way the voting will work is the post you like best will receive 3 points, second 2 points and last a point (ok this isn't simple at all but there's a method to my madness!) The points will be tallied by next Friday September 16 and the top 3 winners will each get a Star Wars pin.

I know what you're thinking "What's in it for me?" Well everyone who votes gets entered into a drawing for their own Star Wars Pin! Cool right!
